17% increase in new opportunity generation by the delivery team

InfoCepts served its enterprise accounts well and grew them slowly, because every relationship sat with an engineer rather than with whoever signs for new work. We gave the delivery team a structure for preparing client conversations, locating where the customer’s problem costs them, and taking that to senior stakeholders.

In technology businesses the deepest client trust usually sits outside the sales team. That is where the growth was.

WHAT THE PROGRAMME IS

Selling Excellently™ is our method for complex B2B selling: ten modules covering the full arc of a deal, from creating opportunities through to closing and holding the account. For technology and SaaS teams the diagnosis most often weights four:

A technology sales team working at a round table
01

Discovery that surfaces the real cost problem

Not the stated requirement, the business problem underneath it and who owns the budget.
What you get: deals built on a problem the buyer will pay to solve, not a feature comparison.

02

Decision-making unit and buying motives

Who influences, who decides, and what each is individually buying.
What you get: fewer deals lost because the person who decides was never met.

03

The business case

Translating a technical advantage into unit economics, return and the cost of doing nothing, in the buyer’s language.
What you get: a number the buyer’s finance team can approve, which takes the deal out of a price comparison.

04

Negotiation and price defence

Trading rather than conceding. Handling “your competitor is cheaper” without eroding margin.
What you get: better margins, and fewer discounts given just to close the quarter.

Built around your product, your competitors, your buying cycle and live opportunities before a session is designed.

Sound Familiar?

THIS IS FOR YOU IF

A trainer explaining objection types on a screen
  1. 01

Competitors describe your outcome in almost identical words.

  2. 02

Meetings are being fixed. The quality of what reaches the pipeline is the problem.

  3. 03

The same pitch goes to the CFO, the CTO and the engineering lead, who each define value differently.

  4. 04

“Your competitor is cheaper” produces a discount rather than a case.

  5. 05

Most of your selling happens on video, across time zones, without the signals a room provides.

WHAT WE KEEP FINDING

01

The differentiator is real and stays unquantified.

Engineering hours removed. Weeks out of time to market. Downtime prevented. None of it appears in a price comparison unless the salesperson puts it there, so a better product arrives as a higher number next to a lower one.

Question Can your team express your value in the buyer’s numbers, without using the word “platform”?

02

Activity targets are met. Qualification is not.

Where teams are measured on meetings fixed, that number is healthy and qualification quality is not. Opportunities enter the pipeline that were never real, and the forecast inherits them.

Question What percentage of your qualified opportunities were genuinely qualified?

03

One pitch, three buyers.

A CFO hears cost and risk. A CTO hears architecture and roadmap. An engineering lead hears whether this makes their week harder. Most teams deliver the same conversation to all three, then wonder why the champion could not carry it internally.

Question Who defends this purchase when you are not in the room, and what did you give them?

The Bigger Picture

WHERE THIS SITS IN THE SYSTEM

  1. 1

    Diagnose

Pipeline review against outcomes, stage conversion, win and loss interviews.

  3. 3

    Coach the Manager

    Manager Coaching
  4. 4

    Reinforce

Monthly clinics, plus AI-based practice, which matters where teams grow and turn over quickly.

    Sales Training Reinforcement
  5. 5

    Measure

Qualification quality and demo-to-opportunity conversion, baselined at diagnosis and reviewed in your CRM.

    How We Work

You can engage any phase on its own.

Before And After

WHAT GETS MEASURED

Meetings fixed, and how many became real opportunities.

Qualification quality against an agreed standard.

Business cases presented, rather than proposals sent.

Closing ratio and average contract value.

Discount conceded against list.

Sales cycle length.

Activity measures move within weeks because the salesperson controls them. Commercial measures follow later, on the length of your cycle. Judging the programme on the second set too early understates what is happening.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We sell through partners and system integrators. Does this apply?

Yes, and it is often where the return is largest. Equipping a partner to sell is a different skill from selling, and almost nobody is trained for it.

Can this work for an SDR or inside sales team specifically?

Yes. The usual finding in inbound-led teams is that the handover from SDR to account executive carries no qualification standard, so the same conversation repeats and the pipeline inflates.

We sell to international buyers entirely on video. Does that work?

It is the normal case. A remote meeting has less time and fewer signals, which makes structure more important rather than less. We teach it directly rather than treating video as a weaker version of a meeting.

Do you train pre-sales and customer success alongside account executives?

Yes, and we usually recommend it where they are in front of the customer when value is established.

How quickly will we see results?

Activity measures within weeks. Commercial measures on the length of your sales cycle. We agree which measures are judged when, in writing, before delivery.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

  1. A 20-minute call

You tell us what you are seeing. We tell you what we would look at first, and whether training is likely to be the answer.

  2. A written diagnosis, in about two weeks

Your own data, and interviews with your salespeople and managers, separately.

  3. A programme only if you need one

Built on your deals, with measures and review points agreed in writing before anything starts.

SaaS sales in short

When every vendor promises the same outcome, the deal goes to the team that can prove value in the buyer’s own numbers. We train SaaS sales, pre-sales and customer success teams to do that on their live deals: find the business problem, reach everyone who decides, build the case finance will approve, and hold price.

IF THOSE ARE UNCOMFORTABLE TO ANSWER

If any of the questions on this page were uncomfortable to answer, twenty minutes on the phone is a reasonable place to start. If the gap is not capability, we will say so.
